Our story
A forge beneath the Julian Alps
The Kalčič forge stands in Blejska Dobrava, a small village between Lake Bled and Jesenice, in a region where iron has been worked for centuries. Since 1989, raw steel has been turned here into railings, gates, lighting and objects that today live in homes across Slovenia and Europe.
We don't make production-line pieces. Every commission is designed together with the client, forged by hand, and fitted to the house it will belong to. No two of our railings are ever the same. And that is the whole point of artistic blacksmithing.
We pair traditional forging techniques with modern protection: hot-dip galvanising and powder-coating let our work stand up to alpine weather for decades. Rust-free and maintenance-free.
